1st Seminar of the Portuguese Shallow Geothermal Platform – PPGS

The first Seminar of the Portuguese Shallow Geothermal Platform (PPGS) was held on July 8th in Alfragide (Portugal). The aims of this event were (1) to release this new platform of our neighbour country and (2) to address shallow geothermal cross-cutting issues , from basic concepts to case studies, going through a national and internatinoal vision of its application, legislation, training, etc.

GEOPLAT was represented by Javier Urchueguía, Coordinator of GEOPLAT’s Training Working Group and Chair of the Geothermal Panel of the European Technology Platform on Renewable Heating & Cooling (RHC-Platform).

A whole approach of the geotharmal sector was given, as national, international, public and private entities were involved in the event. Among them, EGEC (European Geothermal Energy Council), EFG (European Federation of Geologists) or APG (Portuguese Association of Geologist).
