IEA will hold a webinar about mine water as a geothermal energy source

In collaboration with the British Geological Survey (BGS) and the UK Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, the International Energy Agency’s (IEA-Geothermal) Geothermal Technology Cooperation Program, of which Geoplat is a member, will host on March 10 and 11 a webinar: ‘Mine Water Heating and Cooling: A 21st Century Resource for Decarbonization‘.

This webinar, which will be held through the Zoom Webinar platform from 9h to 12h (British Standard Time), will be structured in four sessions:

Wednesday, March 10 (9-12h):
  • Session 1: Mine water heat and decarbonization.
  • Session 2: Experiences of UK mine water heating/cooling schemes.
Thursday, March 11 (9-12h):
  • Session 3: Mine water heat/coolth for local district heating.
  • Session 4: The future for mine water heating and cooling.
